Disk Management Mount

Performing an efficient recovery at the event of a disaster has always been a challenging task. This is because the users prefer the recovery to be very quick and expect the restored data to occupy very less space as well. The significance of performing recovery is worthless, when it becomes time-consuming and consumes a huge chunk of space in your Disk. Disk management mount is an enhanced feature of VM Backup and Windows Server backup which will instantly mount the backed up data virtually on the disk management of the local machine that hardly takes seconds to get completed. Since these hard disk formats are virtually created in Vembu Virtual hard drive they do not consume any additional disk space and makes the user perform a hassle-free recovery.

Disk Management Mount

How it works

  • Selecting Disk Management Mount as the recovery option for the VM or Image based backup will mount the backed up data virtually on the Vembu Virtual Drive as IMG, VHD, VHDX, VMDK, VMX virtual file formats
  • These mounted virtual file formats are then exposed as virtual disks on the disk management of the local machine where BDR Server is installed
  • Users can now copy or use the required files of the backed up machine directly from the created virtual disks
  • During the mounted time period, further incremental backups cannot be processed and once after unmounting the virtual disk after the completion, the backups will continue to run as scheduled
Note: The user should also keep in mind that only one disk can be mounted during a single restore.
