Scality as BDRSuite Backup Repository

To use Scality as a backup repository with BDRSuite, users will need to follow the steps as mentioned below:

Step 1: Log into the BDRSuite Backup Server console and navigate to the Backup Server menu -> Object Storage, and click on the “Create New Object Storage Repository” button on the page that opens.

Step 2: Enter the following details:

a. Specify a name for the new object storage repository
b. Choose S3 Compatible as the Repository Type
c. Enter the Service Endpoint

Ring Endpoint: https://s3.isv.scality.com
Artesca Endpoint: https://artesca.isv.scality.com

d. Specify the Data Center (DC) Region

Step 3: Click “Add New Credential” button which opens a dialog box, where you could specify a credential name to identify your credential record, and provide the Access Key and Secret Key of your Scality (Ring / Artesca) storage account.

Step 4: Select a bucket, from the Bucket Name-drop-down list. Make sure that the bucket where you want to store your backup data has been created in advance.

Step 5: Choose a “Cache Location” to store backup data temporarily before uploading it to Scality Cloud Storage.

Step 6: Once all the fields are configured, click the “Create” button, upon which the Scality cloud storage will be added as a backup repository.

The newly created object storage repository can be used as the backup data storage destination by choosing it during backup job configuration.
