If the Microsoft SQL Server is running in any of the virtual/physical machines that have been backed up at image-level using BDRSuite, then you will have the option to granularly restore the Microsoft SQL Server data using the recovery option “Microsoft SQL Server Recovery”.
The individual SQL databases or tables can be instantly restored. Also, this restore option enables you to recover MS SQL server objects like tables, views, stored procedures etc. to same or different SQL server.
This recovery option allows you to perform the following;
- Restore or bring back the entire database to a designated point-in-time
- Restore single databases or tables instantly
- Capability to restore Microsoft SQL Server databases or tables to the same or a different SQL Server

How to restore the Microsoft SQL Server?
The granular restore of Microsoft SQL Server from the BDRSuite Backup Server, serves as a powerful recovery option for database administrators to quickly recover from data loss or corruption to ensure the availability of critical business data.
- In the BDRSuite Backup Server navigate to the Recovery -> Restore Backup Data
- Click the “Restore” button alongside the backup job which includes VMs/Disks running the Microsoft SQL Server that you want to restore
- Select “Microsoft SQL Server Recovery” option and proceed to configure recovery and restore the Microsoft SQL Server data
