Cause:

The above error will be thrown while logging into Vembu BDR/Vembu OffsiteDR web console due to improper installation of PostgreSQL ODBC drivers. It is usually shown in following cases:

• First login post fresh installation
• First login post upgrade from an older version to new version

Solution:

1. To fix this issue, download Psql ODBC drivers version 9.6.1 from below link and try reinstalling them both(32-bit and 64-bit):
   
   Download 32-bit ODBC Driver
   
   Download 64-bit ODBC Driver
   
   
2. Once both the drivers are successfully installed, go to start and open ‘ODBC Data Sources’ via search.
3. Select SystemDSN tab and click PostGreDBConnection.
4. Select configure and check for following details:
   
     DataSource: PostGreDBConnection
     Database: SGDatabase
     Server: localhost
     Username: postgres
     Port: 32010(or the port specified during installation)
     Password: admin(type admin in the tab given)
   
   
5. After checking for all the above parameters, click Test. If the result is a success then the issue is rectified.

Purpose:

This KB article assists you with steps to install VIS manually when push installation is unsupported in target machines due to following reasons:

• User doesn't have native administrative privileges.
• If Windows machine is Desktop OS.
• Remote installation is not supported for this Windows OS.

Solution:

Follow below steps to install VIS manually in Microsoft Windows systems:

• Download VembuIntegrationService.zip via Download option as shown in above screenshot.
• Extract downloaded zip file which contains following files in it:
• VembuIntegrationService_X_X_X.msi (64-bit installer)
• VembuIntegrationService_x86_X_X_X.msi (32-bit installer)
• InstallationDetails.xml(Configuration file)
• Installation_steps.pdf
• Edit InstallationDetails.xml file by adding following values to attributes:
• “Host_Name”: the value should be either IP address or machine name of target windows machine. You must use the same value while adding it to Vembu BDR server.
           Note: Ensure target is reachable from network of Vembu BDR.
• “PortNo”: value must be “42005”. Ensure no application is using the port before installing VIS.
• Leave rest of the fields unchanged.
• Place the edited configuration file(InstallationDetails.xml) and *.msi file (32-bit or 64-bit installer based on Windows OS) in following location:
           C:\Windows\Vembu\<Configuration File & Installer>(If folder structure doesn't exist, create it and if already exist, replace existing files with new files).
• Install *.msi file, by double-clicking over it. (Read Note section before installation).
Once done, add the Microsoft Windows Host via Vembu BDR web console.

Note:
VembuIntegrationService installation requires Microsoft VC++ redistributable packages pre-installed.

• 2008 VC++ 32-bit (download)

Required packages for 64 bit OS architecture machines :

• 2008 VC++ 32-bit (download)
• 2008 VC++ 64-bit (download)
• 2013 VC++ 64-bit (download)
