Vembu VMBackup Client agent is currently supported for the below mentioned versions of windows machines (Please make sure that you are using any one of the below versions).

  • Windows Server 2012 R2 / 2012 / 2008 R2
  • Windows 2008 SP2 / 2003 SP2 & later
  • Windows SBS 2011 / 2008 / 2003
  • Windows 7 / Windows XP SP2 & later

User Guide for Client agent Installation on Windows:

To install Vembu VMBackup Client Agent on windows, follow the steps given below:

1.Login your BDR backup server console and click download button from the top right corner.

  1. Download the Windows Client installer.

  2. Run the downloaded installer and you can see the installation process starting with below wizard, and just click on next.

  3. You will have a wizard stating Vembu BDR’s license agreement. Read and accept it.

  4. Once you accept the agreement, you will get a wizard to enter the name for Vembu client agent ID. By default, it will be your system name. It is recommended to give your email ID as Vembu client ID since it is globally unique, and click on next.

  5. Choose the installation option that you want to proceed with.

  6. If you choose Typical, then the installer will automatically choose optimized configuration for your install. You can proceed with custom option if you want to change the default values. Once you have chosen the option, click on next.

  7. You will get a wizard to install Vembu client. Click on install so that the installer proceeds with the installation.

  8. Once the installation process completed, you will have a confirmation like the one shown below:

  9. Click on finish to exit the setup. Now Vembu client service is installed successfully. You can access the Vembu Client web console in a web browser (FF, IE and Chrome) by typing localhost:6060 or http://machineip:6060/ in the url.

  10. Enter the username and password for the web console and click on login.

  11. You will have the below window, Select the timezone respective to your location, and click on save.

  12. Then you will have the below window to give the backup server details. Enter the backup server IP address to which you are going to backup your data, and click on connect.

  13. Now you've successfully completed the installation and setup of Vembu Client on your system. You can start configuring backups from Vembu Client.
