Cause

The error “Migration Failed” can occur for a backup in the following scenarios:

1) MySQL/MongoDB/PostgreSQL service stopped while migration.

2) <installation_location>/conf/SGMigration.conf does not have correct values to connect to the databases.

3) <dump_location>/Migrate.xml is deleted.

Solution

Please follow the following steps to complete the backup data migration successfully:

1) If migration is failing for all the backups and the exe is not able to start then follow the below steps:

        a) Stop the VembuBDR service.
        b) Check and start MySQL/MongoDB/PostgreSQL services if anyone is not in running state.
        c) Verify the credentials present in tag SourceDB(MySQL) and DestinationDB(PostgreSQL) in <Installation_location>/conf/SGMigration.conf. The passwords should be base64 encoded format.
        d) Start the VembuBDR service.

2) If migration failed for a particular backup alone then follow the below step:

        a) Check and start MySQL/MongoDB/PostgreSQL services if anyone is not in running state.
        b) Open command prompt from <Installation_location>. Run the following command:
              bin\<Product_Name> MigrateFailedBackup <Client_Name> <Backup_Name>
