Failed to Backup: VMware Tools Not Running in Guest OS

KB ID: 115074
Issue:
When attempting to back up a virtual machine (VM) using BDRSuite, the backup process fails due to VMware Tools not running in the guest operating system (OS).
Cause:
The failure may be caused by one of the following reasons:
1. The VMware Tool service is stopped, uninstalled, or outdated in the guest VM, which is configured for the backup schedule.
2. The guest VM is in a powered-off state.
Solution:
To resolve the backup failure, follow these steps:
1. Check the VMware Tools service in the guest VM and ensure it is running. If it is not running, start the "VMware Tools" service within the guest VM.
2. If the "VMware Tools" service does not exist in the guest VM, install or upgrade "VMware Tools" to the latest version.
3. If the guest VM is in a powered-off state, power on the guest VM machine.
By performing the above steps, the backup process should resume successfully, and VMware Tools will be operational within the guest VM, allowing for proper backup functionality.
