Failed to Install Vembu BDR/ODR v3.9.1 & Later Due to Missing Dependencies

Cause:

This alert is triggered during the installation of Vembu Server (BDR/OffsiteDR) on a Windows 2008 R2 system when the required prerequisite, Windows6.1-KB3033929 patch, is not available on the machine.

Solution 1:

1. Download the Windows6.1-KB3033929 patch from the official Microsoft website.

2. Install the downloaded patch on the machine.

3. Retry the installation of Vembu BDR/OffsiteDR.

Solution 2:

If Solution 1 fails with the error message "KB3033929 is already installed," it indicates that the machine has convenience rollup installed. In such cases, users can proceed with the installation by following these steps:

1. Open the command prompt and navigate to the Vembu BDR/OffsiteDR Installer location.

2. Execute the following command based on the installation type:

For Vembu BDR: `VembuBDRSetup.exe /KB_SKIP="1"`

For Vembu OffsiteDR: `VembuOffsiteDRSetup.exe /KB_SKIP="1"`

Note: After the installation, the user may be prompted to reboot the machine. Reboot the machine at a convenient time, and the BDRSuite Backup Server/OffsiteDR service will be ready for use.
