Cause

  • Email Configuration page (Management→Setting→Email Settings→Email Configuration)
  • Schedule Email Report ( Reports→Backup Status Report→Schedule Email Report)

The specified error:’The e-mail address you entered is not valid’ will occur in the above mentioned User Interface pages on following scenarios

  • When SMTP Server Authentication Setting is disabled.
  • If any one of the following input fields is left empty or if incorrectly formatted: Username, Sender Email ID, Email Recipient ID.

Solution

  • Ensure the following input fields is filled in format of email address(Ex: XYZ@gmail.com): Username, Sender Email ID, Email Recipient ID.
  • Before Saving Email Configuration, ensure that SMTP Server Authentication Settings option is enabled and the authentication details are provided correctly.
