Alert: SNAPSHOT_FAILURE - Hyper-V VSS Writer is not in stable state, Reschedule backup in few minutes

Cause:

When a function call was made when the object was in an incorrect state for that function.

Microsoft error code: 0x80042301

Solution:

• Check the writers status by executing “vssadmin list writers” command in command prompt
• If the writers are not in a stable state, Restart VSS
• Restart Hyper-V VMM services

If the above solution did not resolve the issue then machine restart would fix the issue.
