This error normally occurs if a VM configured for backup from Hyper-V host has its VHD/VHDX file being inaccessible or VHD/VHDX file being corrupted.


  • Need to validate the disk path. To validate the disk path, right click on virtual machines and click on settings and verify the virtual hard disk path.
  • Need to check whether VembuIntegrationService has enough permission to access VHD/VHDX file by confirming whether VembuIntegrationService running with Administrator privilege in services.msc.
