Virtual Machine Backup Limitation with Passthrough Disks

Cause:
The error is caused by the usage of Pass-through Disks for the virtual machine configuration. BDRSuite Backup Server does not support taking backups of VMs with such disks because Microsoft VSS writer does not support Pass-through Disks.
Solution:
To work around this limitation, you can install the BDRSuite Client inside the relevant Virtual Machine. Then, you can take a disk image backup for the desired drives directly from within the virtual machine environment. By using this approach, you can still protect your virtual machine data without relying on Pass-through Disks.
