Cause

The above error occurs due to any one of the following reasons:

1) When you are trying to add a Windows Server/Workstation to the Vembu BDR Backup Server, the previously installed VembuIntegrationService (VIS) or Vembu BDR Client in the target Windows host is not uninstalled/cleaned up properly.

2) If the Windows Server/Workstation is not rebooted after uninstalling the VembuIntegrationService (VIS) or Vembu BDR Client.

3) When you are trying to install a Vembu BDR Client for VMware/Hyper-V/Windows on a Windows machine, the previously installed VembuIntegrationService or Vembu BDR Client is not uninstalled/cleaned up properly.

Solution

  • Reboot your Windows server/workstations and try adding your Microsoft Windows Servers/Workstations to the Vembu BDR Server or install the Vembu BDR Client for VMware/Hyper-V/Windows in the target Windows machine.

  • If the issue still persists even after rebooting the Windows machine, check for the entry of “Voltracker" in your registry (path: "SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\Voltracker" ). If you find the entry with “Voltracker” in your registry, then follow the steps given below:
