If the source disk configured for backup has been inaccessible/detached from the machine.


  1. Check whether the particular volume is attached to the target machine and is accessible by the Operating System.

  2. Navigate to Disk Management in the target machine and check whether the volume is attached to the machine

  3. Also you can check it through Windows Explorer, either the disk/volume is listed.

  4. Then try running the backup schedule and check the progress of the backup.

Note: Even if a backup job is configured through a backup job template, check the above-mentioned solutions, when you get a similar error.
