To enable IP Binding in the VembuBDR server, please follow the below steps

(i) Go to the VembuBDR installation location, By default it would be C:/Program files/Vembu/VembuBDR.

(ii) Then open the SGConfiguration.conf file under the conf folder. Now search for the tag <ipaddress="">. Add the IP Address here which you need to bind.

(iii) Now restart the VembuBDR service and verify whether the backup port get listen in the binded IP.

From the post, we could not find out the exact error message you have received in the email report.

If you have received 'Missed Schedule Email Alert', then possibly the backup has not been deleted from the test server (due to server unavailability or any other reason) and you could receive the missed backup alert from that server. If this is the case, please login to your test backup server console and delete the particular job to avoid failure reports.

If this is not the case, please provide the exact error message that you received for the deleted job in the email report. It would help us to provide the exact solution.

Normally, this incorrect next schedule time issue will be fixed once after editing the backup schedule. Since this issue is not resolved after editing the backup schedule, we provide you the manual steps to update Next Scheudle Time value in database.

Please follow the below instructions

1) Stop the VembuNetworkBackup Application running in the Client machine.

2) Now, open the command prompt (administrator command prompt) and go to the "<vembu_home>" location [By default, it will be 'C:\Program Files\Vembu\VembuNetworkBackup' ] and execute this command "lib\sqlite\sqlite3.exe data\sgclient.db " to open the database.

(here we assume, you have not changed the dbstorage location path and db files are present under <vembu_home>\data folder)

3) Execute the below query in database in order

i) To Get the Backup Config ID Select BACKUPCONFIGID from BACKUPCONFIG where BACKUPNAME=<backup_name>;

ii) To Update the current time as Next schedule time
update BACKUPSCHEDULES set NEXTSCHEDULETIME=(SELECT strftime('%s', 'now')) where BACKUPCONFIG_ID= <backup_config_id>;

iii) To confirm that current time is updated, please execute the below query select datetime(NEXTSCHEDULETIME, 'unixepoch', 'localtime') from BACKUPSCHEDULES WHERE BACKUPCONFIG_ID =<backup_config_id>;

4) Execute '.q' to close the database.

5). After that, start VembuNetworkBackup and resume/schedule the backups.

If the problem still exists, please send the result of last query (query mentioned in point iii), which will help us to give the suitable solution.

As of now, Pre/Post backup script feature is not available in our products. Its already in our roadmap. Based on the current progress, we expect it will be available in our product in third quarter of this year.

Yes, as mentioned earlier, Vembu NetworkBackup agent needs sudo access while running and also during the time of installation. Hence please run the agent with sudo user privilege. If you remove the sudo access after installation then agent would fail to start.

Normally this problem would occur if the installer file is downloaded partially. The actual size of the installer is 586 KB, and from the error you have send us we believe that the downloaded installer size is less than that. So we request you to delete the partial downloaded file from the location and then try downloading from the below link,

Also try to download the Onlineinstaller through Firefox browser and install.
