To reassign the already assgiend licenses please contact vembu support team with the following necessary details,

i) Account name and Email address under which online backup client resides

ii) Onlinebackup Client name and backup name to which license should be reassign

Once the licenses are unallocated from our end you can reassign the license for new backup from your vembu portal. Please send the above details to our support email id vembu-support AT to provide the suitable solution to you.‚Äč

2016-05-17 09:39:14 -0500 commented answer Vembu BDR Appliance - OS Drive Fills Up And Backups Stop

Normally, when the threshold limit 4GB reached and no additional volume is configured for backup, then the backups will be failed with the message "No space left in the storage location". After that, in case if the log size is grown or any user files getting grown in the installation location, then it will fill the root drive where the product is installed. If the root drive got filled, then during startup application will fail with 'Insufficient free space' error message. To avoid this you can attach external drive before you configuring storage drive in Storage Management and select only external drive. By doing this you can avoid filling disk space in OS installed drive and the backed up data will go to the external drive.

We believe that after Silent installation you want to configure backups from Server end. Please note that this feature is currently not available. We will analyse the feasibility and try to include the same in future releases.

Is there a way to configure the client end silently, as in set up their local configuration / backup schedule. After a silent install?

Regarding silent installation, you can follow the below steps in order to perform Vembu NetworkBackup client agent silent installation on Windows machines,

Command to use:

VembuNetworkBackup_3_1_3_WIN_CO.exe /SILENT /AGREE_LICENSE="yes" /SG_ID="VembuPC_101" /SG_Type="Application" /SG_User="admin" /SG_Pass="admin" /SG_Port="4040" /SG_BackupPort="32004" /SG_UIPort="31005" /SG_HTTPS="1" /SG_HTTPSPort="4041"

  1. Download the Vembu NetworkBackup agent build 'VembuNetworkBackup350WIN_CO.exe' Ex: C:\Users\Administrator\Downloads

  2. Open the command prompt with 'Run as Administrator' privilege and navigate to this build downloaded path 'C:\Users\Administrator\Downloads'

  3. Execute the following command in order to initiate 'Silent Installation',

Note: You have supposed to change 'SGID' on each individual client machine installations. You can change the VembuNetworkBackup installation type as either 'Service' or 'Application' by changing the tag 'SGType'. If you want you can also change the VembuBDR webconsole user name 'SGUser' and password 'SGPass' values with your own and rest of other tag values should not change.

VembuNetworkBackup_3_1_3_WIN_CO.exe /SILENT /AGREE_LICENSE="yes" /SG_ID="VembuPC_101" /SG_Type="Service" /SG_User="bill" /SG_Pass="bill123" /SG_Port="4040" /SG_BackupPort="32004" /SG_UIPort="31005" /SG_HTTPS="1" /SG_HTTPSPort="4041"

Kindly follow the above procedure and get back to us if you need any further assistance. You can automate this silent installation for multiple clients by writing a batch or script in your environment and use the above command.

Hi James, Thanks for your update. Please feel free to contact us for any further clarifications in this regard.

2015-11-19 01:23:15 -0500 answered a question File filtering is no longer available

We apologies for the inconvenience caused.

This is known behavior in current version of Vembu OnlineBackup. Meanwhile, please be informed that already configured 'Filter Settings' will work for the existing backup jobs without any issue. However, the same option will not be available for the newer backup jobs. We are currently working on this and the same will be available in our next immediate release.

If you would like to exclude any particular folder while configuring the new backup job, You can manually expand the folder after selecting the root drive and uncheck the unwanted folders and files to exclude them from the backup job.

Also, if you have configured a backup job already with the latest client agent and want to apply the filtering for that backup job, we will provide you the SQL queries to manually insert the filter settings.

Looking forward to hear back from you.

2015-10-07 03:08:58 -0500 answered a question SG0296: Unable to send global db details to replication server

Hi Danny,

Normally the error "SG0296: Unable to send global db details to replication server.." would occur if the network connection between Vembu VMBackup Server and Cloud DR servers hosted in Amazon Web Services is getting abruptly closed during upload. If this issue occurs, the Vembu VMBackup server will try to upload again for every few minutes with maximum reschedule count of 5. So, in the subsequent reschedule this upload process will complete without any issue. Please check the reports for this Cloud DR upload in your Vembu VMBackup server.

You can also reschedule the backup jobs from Vembu VMBackup server for Cloud DR upload by navigating to List Clients --> Click the Expand Icon for View Backups against the corresponding client --> Click Replication Now icon against the particular job.
