Thanks Nivas,

Vembu support advised me that it was best to delete the jobs and re-create them, so that's what I done.

2019-09-23 10:55:32 -0600 asked a question Removed Drive Letter from Server - Now Backups Fail

Hi,

I recently removed the drive letter for an additional storage partition on a few of our servers, and now, each backup is failing because of it. I've tried editing the job preferences etc. (as if I was creating the backup job from scratch) but this hasn't resolved the issue either.

Any ideas on how I can resolve this?

Hi,

I've recently created a new job for a new server. However, each time the job runs, it gets stuck after approx. 200MB (5 minutes in) and doesn't go any further. I've restarted the service, restarted the Vembu host and restarted the affected server, but none of this has resolved the issue.

Hi Pranav,

Thanks for your reply. Were backup job retention settings restricted in recent releases? as some job already have this setting enabled (jobs created some time ago).

I've created a new backup job this morning and essentially copied over the settings from one other job to the new job. However, I don't seem to be able to enable 'retention' - which is enabled on other backup jobs, it's greyed out.

I've tried before and after running the first backup job.

I'm using Vembu BDR 4.0.1 (4012019041520) Free Edition

I'm having an issue currently with trying to update my installation from 4.0 to 4.1 Each time I run the installer, I agree to the terms and conditions, press next, and then the installer quits.

I've tried restarting the PC, re-downloading the setup file (in case the previous one was corrupt), and stopping/restarting the Vembu services - but nothing has worked.

I have checked the C:\Program Files\Vembu\VembuBDR\bin folder, but this does not contain the VembuBDR.exe file. Is it just a simple case of reinstalling Vembu? or will this lose all existing job setups and configurations?

Hi,

I'm receiving the following error message on all my backup jobs...

: Backup Request Failed for Backup [SERVERNAME_BACKUP] To Server [127.0.0.1] with Error :: Backup repository is not configured/available/Does not have enough Permissions in Server. //REPOSITORYFOLDERLOCATION

I've checked the permissions on the folder which seem corrected, and also rebooted the storage appliance, but this hasn't resolved the issue. It's currently affecting all backup jobs.

Hi,

Since updating from Vembu 3.9.1 to Vembu 4.0, I receive a few notification emails (relating to different servers) regarding "missed backup schedule". However, the servers then all do backup and the job completes successfully etc.

Any ideas on what I can try to resolve this?

Currently, backups aren't running and the next scheduled time is in the past (a few days ago). Restarting the service and the host PC has not resolved the issue.

2018-08-13 11:06:53 -0600 asked a question Backup Jobs Not Running Automatically

All of my backup jobs aren't running automatically, and I'm not sure why this is the case. All of the services are started and running on the host PC, and the integration service on the client servers are all running fine too.

When I tried to edit a backup job to see if there were any causes in there, I got the message: Problem Connecting to Vembu Integration Service and it referred me to the following article: [https://www.vembu.com/support/knowled...]

I've tried restarting the host PC and client servers, which unfortunately did not resolve the issue.

I done the latest update to 3.9.1 about a month ago, and it worked fine initially, so I'm wondering if there's something that may have changed or got altered slightly after.

2018-05-24 09:48:41 -0600 answered a question Vembu Missed Backup Schedule Since Agent Updated

Hi Nivas,

Since I manually installed/upgraded the agent by running the .msi on each server and rebooting, they're now all missing their backup schedule. These are the Integration Service Agents.

I wasn't aware that they'd upgrade automatically during the next backup, so I run it manually on each one thinking that it wouldn't interrupt the backup schedule, but it's now meaning that they're missed.

2018-05-24 03:38:10 -0600 asked a question Vembu Missed Backup Schedule Since Agent Updated

Hi,

I've updated VembuBDR to 3.9.1, but the agents didn't update on the clients as the service started as a "local account" and not the backup account (my mistake). After correcting the service log on details, I couldn't find a way to deploy the agent within the BDR we interface.

I therefore found the agent .msi within the Vembu program files directory and manually updated the agent on each server, but since doing so, all the jobs are failing with "missed backup schedule". All the client servers were rebooted after doing the agent update (as I done the Windows Updates at the same time).

2018-04-27 09:13:22 -0600 answered a question Source Might Be Altered Backup Error

Hi Nivas,

Thank you for your reply once again, I can confirm though that each time the support agent has remotely assisted with the issue, it's because the job was deleted first, which then in turn deleted the storage folder as part of the deletion process (I'm guessing)? I've never manually deleted the storage repository on any Vembu backup job ever.

I shall email you the logs now.
