ImageBackup for Windows Workstations & Backup Verification

I have 3 Windows workstations backing up to a BDR server. They have been backing up for over a week, but I have yet to see an image verification report. The BDR server is running in free license mode (switched before trial ended for some reason). Is that a limitation of running free? All the documentation I've read says it is not required to have a license for Windows workstations to do backup verification.

Hi,

Thank you for reaching out Vembu Community Forum.

As per the design "Automated Backup Verification" feature is available only for the Licensed version of Vembu BDR and it's not available for Vembu BDR Free edition. Please refer the below documentation on the comparison between Vembu BDR Free Edition and Vembu BDR Licensed edition.

Note: With Free edition of Vembu BDR the "Image Verification" feature is available only for 3 VM's configured through VMWare backup. It's not available for Vembu ImageBackup backups.

This is really confusing. The link you provided discusses VMWare, Hyper-V and Physical server, but nothing about workstation. Your Vembu BDR licensing page (https://www.vembu.com/vembu-bdr-suite-pricing/) lists Automated Backup Verification as a free feature. Do I have to license BDR 360 in order to get this feature?

As per the design for Vembu BDR Free Edition, Image Verification is not available for Image backups (Both Physical and Workstations). Since you have converted the server to Vembu BDR Free edition this feature will not work. Full featured free license for Workstation is available only if you have not converted the Vembu BDR Backup server into Vembu BDR Free Edition Server. Hence, if you wish to convert your Vembu BDR Free edition server into Vembu BDR licensed server with full-featured free Workstation backup, we request you to contact our support at vembu-support@vembu.com to check further possibilities on converting your Vembu BDR Free edition server into Vembu BDR licensed version with a Free license for workstation and assist you further.
