Cannot add HyperV host

Vembu-VMBackup

I had installed Vembu Backup in a physical HyperV host. This HyperV host OS is Windows Server 2008 R2 Std. When I try to add this standalone HyperV host, I get this error message: "Hyper-V Backup is not supported for this version of Windows server"

Please advise

Hi,

Thank you for reaching out to our Vembu Community Forum.

Normally if you are adding remote Hyper-V host from VembuBDR, following things should be enabled in the remote Hyper-V host.

Hyper-V host should be enabled to recieve remote powershell commands.[Winrm Service should be running and PsRemoting should be enabled]
Remote Registry Service should be enabled in the services of Hyper-V Host.

But if the Hyper-V Host is the local machine usually this issue won't occur.If you still face issue kindly zip the log folder which is available in the below location of the VembuBDR and send an email to vembu-support@vembu.com

Location: "[Installation_Location]\log\"

Example: "C:\Program Files\Vembu\VembuBDR\log"
