I am testing out Vembu network backup - I have configured a job with retention of 1 days. I am confused here as I am still able to see the recovery points from more than a week for the agent. So how does the retention works? Is there anyway want to force the retention to rollup the recovery points?

Thank you for reaching out Vembu Community Forum.
In Vembu NetworkBackup you can retain version files in the backup server based on the age of version files. Default setting is for 5 years, meaning the version files will be retained in the backup server for 5 years and then will be removed automatically. The maximum number of versions that can be created during the retention period can also be optionally further configured.
As per your settings any number of versions can be created within 1 day of retention period - Vembu NetworkBackup retains all the versions created during the specified retention time period and on the second day the version files will be removed.
Apart from the retention files time stamp there will be new time stamps added to the backup if you add new files to the backup. These timestamps will not be removed and you can see these time stamps until any version changes happen to all the files added in that time stamp. We suspect that you are seeing a week of time stamp for the files which are newly added to the backup.
In case if you feel retention does not happen as per your settings and if there are no new files added at the time stamp, please send an email with the below details to our support at vembu-support@vembu.com to check further.
