exclude ~$(filename.ext) from ...

exclude ~$(filename.ext) from backup

Hi Guys,

My client is an event management company who could be working up to 3am over their busy period "Christmas"

What is happening is some users are working on files when the backup runs, which causes the error "The process cannot access the file because it is being used by another process". Is there anyway to exclude ~$(filename.ext) from the backup selection. We have tried adding the below filter, but it is not working.

Exclude specific files configured in this backup schedule that matches the text pattern "contains ~$" and apply this rule to all levels of sub-folders.

Hi,

Thanks for point out the problem in our filter configuration. We have tested your filter configuration in our test lab and files contains "~$" are not excluded in backup. We will fix this issue in our next update. As a work around we recommend you to use filter only with "~". Please configure the filter "Exclude specific files configured in this backup schedule that matches the text pattern "starts with ~" and apply this rule to all levels of sub-folders.". This kind of filter helps you to exclude the files which start with "~".
