Free backup of desktop OS?

Hi guys,

I was led to understand that desktop operating systems (Windows 7/8/10 etc) can be backed up for free, I have just noticed that a desktop I had added a file only backup for was being billed against our account (Subsequently removed).

Is there something I am doing wrong or missing?

We are using VembuVMBackup31_0 as our host server.

Hi,

File backup and Image backup is free of cost in case if the Vembu client installed OS is desktop version. We have checked your portal account and noticed that all the client 's registered under your portal account is server OSes. Also we replied your support query with the list of clients registered to your portal account, do verify the same and update us.

Whatever happend to your free lifetime physical server image backups? This was announced less than a year ago:

@chris9213 It is true that initially both Server and Desktop Physical Image Backup were available for free. Since customers requested standard support for the same and based on the request count for the Server OS image backup support, We had to set standard license pricing for the Server OS backup and set standard support free. For Desktop OSs, the license is still kept as free and in case, if the customer wants support assistance, then they would need to purchase separate support package for the same.
