We have had our Vembu Server fail and until a new unit arrives are we attempting a recovery to a smaller unit. However we are only able to create a single 2TB partition, where as the old server had a second partition exclusively for backups (F:)

We have access to the sgdata store from our backup and can recover this to the sgdata store located under C:\ on the new server, before I do this however is there any steps I need to take in order for Vembu to continue to backup our clients from the current repository?

As a temporary measure to get us running again we have mounted the VHD from the Windows Server Backup into disk management with the correct drive letter, we would still prefer to move this to C:\ so we can back this up.

From your query we believe that your backup server is crashed and you are rebuilding the server in newer instance with the backed-up data from crashed server. Regarding the above kindly follow the steps given in the knowledge base link given below.

Please note that the volumes added in older and newer repository should have the same data position(i.e the data should be placed in the volume names same as in the older server). If the volumes name varies in the newer server the same needed to be updated manually in the database with the assistance of the Vembu tech team.

Please do check the same and get back to us for further assistance on the server rebuild process.
