Multiple Partial Backups
We have Approx 11 servers backing up to our Vembu Server, each with a basic File Only policy set to run at 9PM every day. We have the server set to send us a report at 9AM morning, when we receive this report it lists multiple Partial backups for each server/policy rather than a single job. Any ideas? It is making it incredibly difficult for our service desks to determine if all the files in the policy have been backed up successfully.
The backup was reported as partially, if one or more files was skipped during the backup. You can view the the reason for the files skip in backup server console as well as your client webconsole. To view from backup server console: Login to backup server console go to menu "Reports -> Historical reports -> choose client name and choose backup name -> expand the backup report by clicking '+' -> click "view" in skipped files count" here you can find the reason for skipped files. To view from client console: Login to client console, go to menu "Reports -> Backup Reports -> Backup name -> View in skipped files count" here you can find the reason for skipped files. To know more infromation about reason for the skipped, kindly update us the error message in skipped files report or update us the screen shot of the error.

On the client console the tasks can be expanded, however the button to view skipped files is greyed out.

You can open this file using any text editor.
jameer ( 2015-11-23 06:17:04 -0500 )editThanks that is shedding some light on the matter, as far as I can see (not formatted very well) all of the skipped files are due to permission errors: "Access is denied". Is there a service which I need to ensure has permission to the failed areas?
