Every time I do a backup the backup image gets mounted to Disk Management on the server. I have to manually unmount the image before the next backup or the backup will fail, saying it missed the schedule. It just started this behavior within the past 2-3 weeks. How can I fix this so I don't have to manually unmount the image after a backup?
Apologies for the inconvenience caused.
Normally once the backup job completes, it will run through a integrity check to make sure the integrity of the backed up VM or physical machine. But in some scenario, the mounted drives will not be automatically unmounted or the incremental backup triggered much frequently would cause this issue. This is a known issue and we have fixed it in our latest release v3.1. Hence please upgrade your backup server to version 3.1 to avoid this issue further.

After the integrity check process, the virtual drive will be automatically unmounted by BDR server. But in few scenarios, it is not getting unmounted automatically and the backup jobs are getting failed. In the next release v3.9.1, we have handled this case and backup jobs will not be interrupted even though the virtual drive is mounted after the integrity check process. Vembu BDR Suite v3.9.1 will be available by mid of April 2018.
However, more information would be captured in the log files regarding this issue. So, send us the log folder of Vembu BDR Server as a ZIP to vembu-support@vembu.com. Our support engineers will analyze the log files and get back to you shortly.

Is there a way to temporarily disable the mounting/integrity feature?
Yes, you can suspend the automatic integrity check process by following the below steps,
Stop the Vembu BDR service on the backup server machine from "services.msc".
Change the 'IntegrityCheck Enable' attribute in 'Vembu BDR Installation location/conf/SGIntegrityCheck.conf' file as "0" and save the file. Eg: IntegrityCheck Enable="0"
Start the Vembu BDR Service.
I just temporarily disabled the integrity check, and await the new release. thanks for your prompt replies.

Relice the disassembly of the virtual units with the help of the following KB "https://www.vembu.com/community/question/372/backup-fails-due-to-virtual-dr ive-mount/" make the change of the parameter to 0 for IntegrityCheck Enable = "0" but the error continues.

We have fixed the backup failure issue due to the virtual drive mount in our current version 3.9.1. So, if your BDR backup server is running in a lower version, I recommend you to upgrade your BDR backup server to the latest version 3.9.1.
