Free Edition Store a maximum of n full backups

Hi,

I have the following configuration, and it does not appear to work. Please clarify what is going on?

Schedule Details Job Name: Servers Backup Server(s): 127.0.0.1 Schedule Type: Run Daily Schedule Time: 06 : 00 PM

Additional Full Backup Details Additional Full Backup: Enabled Take a full backup every day at 05 : 00 PM
Store a maximum of 14 full backups.

From the above, the Daily Backup will never run, because the Additional Full Backup is scheduled to run before Daily is due. This is as per my plan.

The backup location contains over 20 backups, so it's not keeping only 14. Why is this?

Full backup retention will not be processed unless the backup job is completed successfully. To analyze this further, send the following screenshots and logs to vembu-support@vembu.com.

You can find the log folder of Vembu BDR Server on the backup server machine at < installation Location >\vembu\vembuBDR\log

To take the above screenshots, go to the Recovery section in your Vembu BDR Backup server, and click on the Reports icon corresponding to the backup job, which is having the retention issue. You can see different reports on that screen, click on Backup Report & Delete Logs tabs and take the screenshots.

Before I send the logs, I'd like to say, all backups have been successful. Is there a reason why the backups are not being deleted. Does the process look at the 1st schedule, and not delete anything because the schedule has never run, due to the additional schedule always being run?

As per the design, the full backup retention will happen once the retention count exceeds. With the logs and screenshots, our support engineers will be able to identify the reason for this retention failure and provide you with the steps to resolve it.
