I get the following message 'Provided credentials do not have administrator privilege to perform application-aware processing' even though the user is both a local admin and domain admin.
I have followed the steps in https://www.vembu.com/support/knowled... and those steps have not solved the problem.

Administrator privileges of the VM are required to perform application-aware processing on a guest VM as it involves installing Vembu Guest Tools on the targeted VM(s).
As you have mentioned that you have followed all the steps given in the KB article, we recommend you to email the log folder of Vembu BDR Backup Server as a ZIP to our support at vembu-support@vembu.com along with the following information.
You can find the log folder of Vembu BDR Backup Server on the backup server machine at < installation Location >\vembu\vembuBDR\log
For Example C:\Program Files\Vembu\VembuBDR\log
I fixed this by adding full permissions to the Windows folder for my user account.
