License Issue with Free Edition - Backups Failing - License Check Issues

I'm getting failed backups, with the Remark: No valid license available.

When I do a License Check, I'm told my Trial has expired, but I have not been using Trial, I switched to the Free Edition a long time ago.

I have not carried out any recent upgrades to VMware.

What is going on here?
