Run the following command in the installation location of the Vembu NetworkBackup clients to update the new IP address of Backup Server. You can update IP address for all the backup jobs or for specific backup jobs based on your requirements.

1)To change the IP address of the backup server for all the backup jobs.

bin\VembuNetworkBackup.exe MigrateServerName <Old_Server_Name> <New_Server_Name> All

Example: < VNBinstallationlocation >bin\VembuNetworkBackup.exe MigrateServerName 192.168.100.101 192.168.200.202 All

2)To change the IP address of the backup server for specific backup jobs.

bin\VembuNetworkBackup.exe MigrateServerName <Old_Server_Name> <New_Server_Name> <job_name_1> <job_name_2>

Example: < VNBinstallationloation >bin\VembuNetworkBackup.exe MigrateServerName 192.168.100.101 192.168.200.202 backupjob1 backupjob2

You can follow the below steps to create the batch file for updating the new IP address.

Step 1: Save the following content as a batch file (like serveripchange.bat)

@echo off
Title: To update the new IP address of Backup Server!
echo Welcome!
set oldserverip=%1
set newserverip=%2
set installationpath=%3

echo Installation path :: %installationpath%
echo old server ip :: %oldserverip%
echo new server ip :: %newserverip%

cd /D %installationpath% 
bin\VembuNetworkBackup.exe MigrateServerName %oldserverip% %newserverip% All

Step 2: Execute the batch file either by passing arguments or by replacing the values directly in the file.

Option a: Passing arguments

serveripchange.bat <oldserverip> <newserverip> <installationpath>

Example: serveripchange.bat 192.168.100.45 192.168.100.80 "C:\ProgramFiles\Vembu\VembuNetworkBackup"

Option b: Replace the server details and installation path in the batch file and then run 'serveripchange.bat'

Example:

set oldserverip=192.168.100.45
set newserverip=192.168.100.80
set installationpath="C:\Program Files\Vembu\VembuNetworkBackup"

The backup jobs cannot be started from a centralized console. All the backup jobs start to run automatically as per the schedule, if the backup jobs are not running as scheduled, open services.msc and Restart the VembuNetworkBackup service.

It is always recommended to run the script with administrator privileges or with the user having enough privilege to execute the batch file.

To analyze this issue in starting the backup jobs, send the screenshot of the expanded client-side report and log folder of Vembu NetworkBackup clientas a ZIP(any one of your client) to vembu-support@vembu.com.

You can find the log folder of Vembu NetworkBackup agent on the client machine at < installation Location >\vembu\VembuNetworkBackup\log
