I'm just now noticing that the recovery backup reports are indicating backup failures when the Backup job list reports are indicating a successful backup. I believe the recovery backup reports are accurate as when I attempt a recovery, I'm only given dates that have been successful according to the recovery backup reports. Why are these two reports conflicting?
To analyze more on this, attach the screenshot of both "List All Jobs" and "Recovery" side report of the particular backup job in the same thread.
In Vembu BDR Suite v4.0, for Hyper-V VM backups, we found an issue in updating the reports in some rare cases. However, all the data will be successfully backed up in those cases.
We have identified the root cause of this issue and fixed it in our upcoming patch release v4.0.1. Vembu BDR Suite v4.0.1 will be generally available in a couple of days.
To confirm the same, send the log files of Vembu Integration Service and Vembu BDR Serverto vembu-support@vembu.com.
You can find the log folder of Vembu BDR Server on the backup server machine at < installation Location >\vembu\vembuBDR\log
You can find the log folder of Vembu Integration service on the Hyper-V host at < installation Location >\Vembu\VembuIntegrationService\log
Thanks, I emailed the log files. Will this patch also address the restore selection items? My biggest concern here is when I attempt to restore items from a date that the restore report indicates the VM failed, I can't.
As of now, the VMs which were marked as failed will not be listed for recovery. However, from the recovery page, you can mount the particular backup job and recover the backup data through VembuVirtualDrive.
If you want to recover the data of the particular VMs through UI, contact our support at vembu-support@vembu.com, our support engineers will help you in recovering those VMs.
Once you upgrade to 4.0.1, you won't face such failure reports.
