Vembu backup metadata dump

Hi,

We're currently evaluating VembuBDR... We have version 4.0.0 installed on one of our servers.

I'm trying to automate the backup of the metadata including "SGDatabase.sql" so we can recover if the host server crashes. For some reason this file is always getting dumped over night to "c:\" (so "c:\SGDatabase.sql") which is no good.

Can this path be overridden? I've tried changing the "Path" attribute in the configuration's <backupservermetadata/> tag, but it doesn't seem to have any effect. I've tried a few different local paths that the service should have write permission to but no joy.

Is there anything else I can try?

As per the design, every day the SGDatabase.sql file will be dumped to the configured storage repository(sgstorage folder). If the host server gets crashed, you will be able to recover the host backup server using the backup data and SGDatabase.sql file from the sgstorage folder.

During the backup server installation, if you choose C drive as the backup storage repository, and later you change it to a different drive (say F drive), the database will still get dumped to the initially created sgstorage folder in the C drive.

You cannot change the default dump location of SGDatabase by changing an attribute in the configuration file. If you wish to change the dump location, contact our support at vembu-support@vembu.com, they will provide you with database queries to modify the dump location.
