I believe you are mentioning the VembuData folder in VM disk location. The VembuData folder is created on VM disk location of Hyper-V VMs configured for the backup using Vembu BDR v4.0.
This folder contains information about the changes made on the Hyper-V VMs. The files in this folder will be used to take incremental backups whenever the Vembu CBT driver fails to track the incremental changes.
It is not available for the backup configured using the older version of Vembu BDR.
If VembuData folder is deleted or moved, the incremental backups will not be continued during the failure cases of Vembu CBT driver.
Thank Nivas for you reply,
But i am fresh install vembu 3.9.1 and run first backup without incremental and i am sure this version does not create the folder Vembut data as Version 4.0 did. And i just want to make sure for the version 3.9.1 i don't see it is create the snapshot file (.ahvdx) for temporary while progressing backup as Version 4.0 did. That is why i am question in here.
Thanks Saravuth
In Vembu BDR v4.0, we have changed the backup approach for the Hyper-V VMs. For the purpose of application log truncation, the AVHDX file is retained until the successful completion of backups.
Currently, the AVHDX file is retained for all the Hyper-V VMs. From the next release, it will be retained only for the VMs that have application-aware enabled.
