The problem is exactly with Volume Shadow Copy services (VSS services). Please Go to Services window in your machine and check if Volume Shadow Copy service is running or not. If it is not running please restart it. Now try to run the incremental for Physical backup. If it continues without any issue, then its fine. Or else If you face the same issue again "VssIsNotInitializedError. LINE:: 534" there might be problem with VSS writers. Kindly open command prompt window with Run As Administrator and type "vssadmin List Writers". This command shows the status for VSS writers. Check if all the writers are stable or not. If any writer is in unstable state then make them stable and proceed your backup. The backup will success.
The reason why the backup fails with writer unstable, is because while configuring physical server backup with enabling appaware options it keeps track of application writers like SQL, SharePoint and Exchange. So if any one of these writers are in unstable state we generally this error comes in scene. Hope this is helpful to you.
