I work for a company which uses this software in order to backup users, we remote onto there systems and about 70% of the time they will be able to communicate with our backup server no problem but occasionally there will be an instance where it can communicate through the port but will state the message that the server is not responding to the requests which we believe it is, since it worked for all the other machines/systems.

If your Vembu BDR backup server is not responding when a client is trying to connect, check the connection between the backup server and client. login to your Network Backup client, go to Settings > Test connectivity to Backup Server, Enter the IP address of the backup server and click on Test Connection. If you are finding any errors in connecting the Vembu BDR Backup Server and NetworkBackup Client, refer the Knowledge Base to fix the connection error.
If all the modules are working fine but still your backup server is not responding from the very first time i.e full backup or stopped responding in between the incremental backup schedules, share us the error message of the particular backup job by replying in the same thread.
You can find the error messages by navigating to Backup > List Jobs and clicking on the Report Icon corresponding to the respective backup job on your NetworkBackup Client.
Thanks for the update. Establish a connection between the client and the backup server machine, and then configure the backups from the NetworkBackup Client.

I've managed to get onto the dashboard and the DNS Lookup and Connectivity Modules both have green ticks but Compatibility and Backup Server both have crosses without a Result Message, all our systems are the same so im not sure why some work and some dont i couldn't seem to find anything of the knowledgebase would you be able to help me?
