My server with Vembu BDR is cripted and this server have all my hyper-v vms. I want to restore my vms from my folders backup (is on another server) , but I can´t have the sgsstorage default folder with the dump of database. Only have the folder with the virtual machine files.
Please, I am deseperated. Help me!!!!

I have the same question. Can someone clarify if the PostgreSQL database dump is necessary to restore backup from a failed backup server's repository, please?
It is not necessary to have the PostgreSQL database dump to restore the backup from a failed backup server.
If you don't have PostgreSQL database dump, it takes time to rebuild the backup server followed by restoring the backup data. On another hand, If you have the database dump, the backup data can be restored in minimal time.
How are the steps to do so without sqldump???

This post is a wiki. Anyone with karma >75 is welcome to improve it.
Inside the sgstorage folder, you can find a SQL file (For example SGDatabase.sql), which is the dump of the database and it will be updated every day.
If you have the sgstorage folder containing the SQL dump file and backup data, you will be able to restore the backup server by following the steps given in the KB article: Rebuilding Vembu BDR Server.
We are not providing any steps to rebuild the Vembu BDR Server without using SQL dump. It can be done only by our engineers as it requires high technical expertise.
