Quick VM Recovery to Hyper-V

Vembu-VMBackup

When recovering to a Hyper-v server the server powers on but is setup as a G2 server so using UEFI Bios The recovered server fails to boot

If we create a new G1 VM and add the vhdx the server fails to boot as well

Its a Physical PC running windows 7 for testing

Any idea?

Based on the source machine type, the G1 or G2 VM will be created on Hyper-V while instantly booting the backed up physical and virtual machines. I think you might be having GPT partition in the Windows 7 machine. Hence, Vembu BDR backup server had created the G2 VM. But you can test the instant boot by creating a new G1 VM manually by selecting the VHD file instead of VHDX. You can find the VHD, VHDX, VMDK and IMG image files in Vembu Virtual Drive (D:\VembuVirtualDrive). These virtual image files are virtually created by Vembu BDR for all the backed up physical and virtual machines without using any disk space.
