Vembu Missed Backup Schedule Since Agent Updated

Hi,

I've updated VembuBDR to 3.9.1, but the agents didn't update on the clients as the service started as a "local account" and not the backup account (my mistake). After correcting the service log on details, I couldn't find a way to deploy the agent within the BDR we interface.

I therefore found the agent .msi within the Vembu program files directory and manually updated the agent on each server, but since doing so, all the jobs are failing with "missed backup schedule". All the client servers were rebooted after doing the agent update (as I done the Windows Updates at the same time).

Can you update us whether you are facing issues in upgrading the agents which are added directly from Vembu BDR server console (Vembu Integration Service agent for Hyper-V VMs and physical windows server image backups) or the Vembu backup client agents (Vembu VMBackup / ImageBackup / NetworkBackup client)?

If you are referring to the Vembu integration service agents installed on Hyper-V host or windows servers, it will be automatically upgraded to latest version during the next backup schedule. So, normally no manual steps are required to upgrade the Vembu Integration Service.

If you are referring to Vembu VMBackup / ImageBackup / NetworkBackup client, then these client builds can be upgraded by adding the respective builds from the web interface of Vembu BDR Server, Management > Setting > Software Update > Add Binary. Download the latest client build from the Software Upgrade Guide and add it to the Binary. The added clients will be automatically upgraded to the latest version.

Hi Nivas,

Since I manually installed/upgraded the agent by running the .msi on each server and rebooting, they're now all missing their backup schedule. These are the Integration Service Agents.

I wasn't aware that they'd upgrade automatically during the next backup, so I run it manually on each one thinking that it wouldn't interrupt the backup schedule, but it's now meaning that they're missed.

Hi Lewis,

Since you were manually upgraded the Vembu Integration Service, some of the files might not be updated properly. In order to assist with this, share the following details of your environment to our support team at vembu-support@vembu.com.

Log folder of Vembu BDR Server as a ZIP. You can find the log folder at < installation Location >/vembu/vembuBDR/log

For Example: C/program files/vembu/vembuBDR/log
SGconfiguration.conf file of Vembu Integration Service installed on your windows server machine. You can find SGconfiguration.conf file at < installation Location >\Program Files\Vembu\VembuIntegrationService\conf\SGconfiguration.conf

For example: C:\Program Files\Vembu\VembuIntegrationService\conf\SGconfiguration.conf
