Thank you. Now i get this error: CBT_FAILURE Communication could not... CBT_FAILURE Communication could not be established to the remote CBT driver [Message - START] (Refer this KB : 104012) I think i might need help to do a CBT reset. This VM that I am trying to backup was moved from another Hyper-v enviroment where it was already being backed up by Vembu. After moving it I have not been able to back it up. The new system has SMB3 as storage Please advice what to do. Regards Jacob

jmj ( 2017-12-14 02:08:35 -0500 )editIt seems the Vembu Integration Service is not installed on SMB server. In order to backup the VM which stores the VM data in SMB share, the Vembu agent needs to be installed in both Hyper-V host and SMB server. The reasons for this error have been explained in following KB article, https://www.vembu.com/support/knowledge-base/question/104012. You can install the Vembu agent on SMB server by adding the SMB server info on the Hyper-V backup page. https://www.vembu.com/guide/vembu-vmbackup-user-guide/getting-started.html?SetupBackupJob3.html - Nagarajan
nagarajan ( 2017-12-14 02:42:37 -0500 )editRight now, we do not support scale-out SMB share. We have added this to our roadmap and started working on this feature. We haven't decided the release date yet. Meanwhile, if you would like to backup those VMs, you can use the disk image backup feature. You need to add each VM information on BDR backup server console and it will install an agent inside the VM and backup the entire VM. Refer the following user guide to know how to backup the VMs using disk image backup feature, https://www.vembu.com/guide/vembu-imagebackup-user-guide/getting-started.html .
nagarajan ( 2017-12-14 04:34:55 -0500 )editAs Nagarajan has mentioned already, the feature is in development stage and it would be available in our 4.x release expected by Q3 2018.
The current version does not support SOFS cluster environment. It will be available by end of Q3 2018.
