How to bypass 30 day trial and go straight into free license.
I would like to review BDR and VMbackup etc in free license mode without waiting for the 30 day trial to expire. How can I revoke the 30 day trial license?
Thanks!

Right now, we do not have any option to switch the BDR backup server to FREE edition during the 30 days of free trial. However, if you register the BDR backup server to Vembu Portal, we will enable the FREE edition to your BDR backup server from our side.
It seems that you have already registered one of your BDR servers on vembu portal with the same account you are using for vembu community. Please give us a confirmation in comments, if you want to switch the same to the free edition of Vembu BDR Suite.
Note: Once you have switched to the free edition, you cannot revert back to the full-featured trial again.
Your Vembu portal trial expiry date has been successfully modified. In order to activate the free edition, please log in to BDR backup server console and then go to "Management->Server Management->Server Registration and click on 'Run License Check'". After successful License check, follow the steps 3 & 4 from the following URL to activate FREE edition, https://www.vembu.com/support/knowledge-base/question/115050/steps-for-converting-to-vembu-free-edition-after-30-days-trial-period/

I also did not know this: "Right now, we do not have any option to switch the BDR backup server to FREE edition during the 30 days of free trial." Anyway....Could I get some assistance right here?...or should I start a new thread for my case? Thanks!
In order to convert your backup server to the free edition during the trial period, click on the User icon(face like icon) on the top right corner of your BDR Backup Server, and then click on Change Edition in the sub-menu.
Select Free Edition from the list and click on Change Edition.
Note: You can switch between the Standard and Enterprise Editions during the trial period, but once you switched to Free Edition, you cannot revert back to Standard or Enterprise Edition.
Unfortunately it didn't worked quite well for me; that's why I've started checking the forums. Although the initial trial enterprise license was activated instantaneously, the second I've tried changing to the free edition, I've got an error displayed o the GUI: " Please check network connectivity or contact vembu support". And, of course, clicking on Change Edition brought no result. The license-log doesn't record anything about it. On the other side, the error-log throws the following: ERROR [ CentralizedLicenseManager::UpdateHostInfoToPartnerZone ] Unable to get the response from Portal for Host License sync. [CentralizedLicenseManager.cpp:4274] I find it at least odd how a couple of second earlier I get a successful update of the host license to the portal and when I try the downgrade the connection is suddenly no longer available. It feels like I'm force handed to try the cool Enterprise features. If this is a marketing stunt, then...I'm disappointed. Have a nice evening and thank you for your earlier reply!
The above error message implies that the Vembu BDR server was unable to connect to the Vembu Portal to convert to free edition.
To resolve this, make sure
Your Vembu BDR Server is connected to the internet and has access to portal. vembu.com.
You have updated your proxy settings in the Vembu BDR server, in case if you are connected through a proxy server.
To update the proxy settings, login to your Vembu BDR server and open http://< machinename >:< portnum >/v/#/proxyUpdate in your browser, fill all the fields and click on save.
Where machinename:- Machine name or IP address of Vembu BDR Server, portnum:- Port number of Vembu BDR Server(default port number:6060)
For example, 192.168.100.200:6060/v/#/proxyUpdate
I understand perfectly what you're saying. I already did follow the official instructions and I've troubleshooted by checking the aforementioned 2 points. It simply just doesn't want to downgrade. I deleted the license registration several times and the installation managed to re-register itself again...under the default Enterprise edition, of course. Also, the license-logs throw inconsistent data in my opinion. For example:

What should I understand from it? Failed, but successful, but also failed? What am I missing here?
In order to assist you with this further, send the entire log foldersof Vembu BDR Server as a zip file to vembu-support@vembu.com. One of our support engineers will analyze the log files and get back to you shortly.
You can find the log folder at < installation Location >\vembu\vembuBDR\log
For Example: C:\program files\vembu\vembuBDR\log
