I'm using Vembu Image backup FREE.
I have added 2 storage pools. 1st - a Local drive on my Virtual Machine running windows 2012 server. 2nd - an external hard drive connected to the VM mentioned above.
The backup is happening on the primary source, but not on the external hard drive.
Not sure what I'm doing wrong.
I believe you have added both the storage targets under same storage repositories. Vembu provides scale-out storage feature in all editions. So, initially the primary storage target will be occupied and then the second storage target will be used to store the backup data. This feature helps our customers to scale-out their storage infrastructure when it requires.
If you would like to use both the storage targets for different back jobs, you need to create two storage repositories by selecting the individual storage targets respectively. Then while creating the backup jobs, you can select the target storage repository in "settings" option.
Hi, I'd like to use both storage pools for the same Backup task. i'd like it to back up on primary storage (local hard drive) and also the secondary storage (an external hard drive). Do i need to create two separate backup jobs?
management ( 2017-12-03 19:05:34 -0500 )editRight now, it is not possible to keep two copies of a backup job in different storage targets. Also, ImageBackup cannot be configured twice. However, you can use Vembu OffsiteDR to replicate the additional copy of the backup data to secondary storage target(onsite or offsite). This feature is available in paid edition.
