The 'Startup repair' issue might be occurred due to one of the following reasons

1) Missing of necessary VMDK drivers.

2) If any secondary disk is present in original physical machine and the same is not added while VM creation. Please check this case and update to us.

Steps to inject the necessary VMDK drivers through the Recovery CD is listed below,

1) Download the Vembu BDR Recovery CD build tool from the below link https://www.vembu.com/builds/v350/ (Based on the system architecture download Recovery CD 64 bit/32 bit.)

2) To prepare Recovery CD and perform restore by using Recovery CD, refer the below link https://s3.amazonaws.com/Vembu-help-documents/VembuBDR/PhysicalRecoveryUsing_RecoveryCD.pdf
