Using two different backup softwares simultaneously to backup a Microsoft Windows machine does cause some issues, as both the softwares use Microsoft VSS to create snapshots inorder to configure backups. Thus, we inform our users not to run two different backup softwares in parallel.

But in your case, to analyze it further, we require some more details from you, so kindly send an e-mail along with the following details in a zipped folder to vembu-support@vembu.com, keeping "regarding the forum query" as the mail's subject line.

Required Details:

  1. System Crash dump of the BDR Backup Server machine after reboot. The default location of the dump file is %SystemRoot%memory.dmp i.e C:\Windows\memory.dmp.
  2. BDR Backup Server logs, you can find the log folder at the "< installation_path >\Vembu\VembuBDR\log" location. i.e., "C:\Program Files\Vembu\VembuBDR\log"
  3. Time of reboot occurrence, whether the system reboots during the Windows Server Backup (WSB) schedule on the Backup Server machine?
