From the above-given details, it is evident that the pushing of the agent is failing due to the BAD_PATH error.

This failure is not because of Vembu's residue values of the previous installation; This failure is actually at the place where the software is trying to access the admin$ of the target machine.

We suspect it might be because of the host/machine name of the target machine that you have added in the Hostname/IP address section in the Vembu BDR Backup Server. We suggest you provide the IP address of the target machine instead of the hostname/machine-name.

And since it is a workstation that you are trying to add, there will be a pop-up in the UI, asking you to install the Vembu Integration Service (VIS) manually on the target machine which you are trying to backup.

If you still face the same issue even after using the IP address, then to analyze further kindly send the following details in an e-mail to vembu-support@vembu.com, keeping "regarding the forum query" as the mail's subject line.

  1. The Vembu BDR Backup Server logs in a zipped folder - You can find the log folder at the "< installation_path >\Vembu\VembuBDR\" location. For Example: "C:\Program Files\Vembu\VembuBDR\".

  2. Also the screenshots of the error messages that pops-up.
