Please refer to this KB article and try the given options to resolve the issue.

We request you to take a manual snapshot again, but this time with the following conditions:

1. Snapshot the virtual machine's memory - Disabled
2. Quiesce guest file system (Needs VMware Tools installed) - Enabled

If your manual snapshot fails, then the error is due to Quiescing issues in VMware. If your snapshot is successful under those conditions, get back to us at vembu-support@vembu.com to analyze the issue further.
