Hi Brian,
The above error message is shown - If your Hyper-V host is of 2016 and VM Configuration version is lower than 8 [Select the VM & you can find the VM configuration version at the lower pane of Hyper-V host.]
In this case, we have two option for you:
To perform VM configuration update:
a) Shut down the virtual machine in Hyper-V Manager
b) Right-Click on VM - Upgrade Configuration Version
(If this option isn't available for the virtual machine, then it's already at the highest configuration version supported by the Hyper-V host)
c) Once VM upgraded, turn on the VM and trigger the backup.
Refer this link for detailed information on VM update.
If the above solution doesn't resolve the issue or if your Hyper-V is not running on 2016, kindly send the Hyper-V host OS details and zip the log folder of the VembuBDR, VembuIntegrationService and send an email to vembu-support@vembu.com
Location: [Installation Location]\log
In VembuBDR send us the below log folder
Example: "C:\Program Files\Vembu\VembuBDR\log"
In Hyper-V Host send us the below log folder
Example: "C:\Program Files\Vembu\VembuIntegrationService\log"
