Hi Markus,

To backup VMs running on KVM hypervisor, a backup agent needs to be installed on each VM. For Windows VMs, you can use Vembu ImageBackup agent to backup the entire VM with application-aware processing. During recovery, the entire VM can be instantly recovered to KVM or Hyper-V or VMware or you can restore individual files and application data. Refer the following URL to set up the backup infrastructure. https://www.vembu.com/guide/evaluators-guide-for-windows-servers-and-workstations/getting-started.html

To backup Linux VMs, you need to use Vembu NetworkBackup agent and it will backup the files and folders from the Windows, Linux, and Mac machines. Refer the following to know more about the NetworkBackup, https://www.vembu.com/guide/vembu-networkbackup-user-guide/getting-started.html
