We found out that some IT pros were not aware of what VMware CBT was. VMware CBT is a technique in incremental backup which only checks for blocks that have changed. With this feature, users don’t need to sacrifice as much storage space in their backup storage servers. As Virtualization has become the talk of the tech-town, our team has already geared up for an alternative approach to extend the CBT support to Citrix XenServer backup and Microsoft HyperVisor backups.
We have already started supporting Citrix XenServer Backup in Vembu BDR v2.0. The CBT option for these Hypervisors is our next ambition. This announcement from Vembu might surprise those who are looking out for a consistent state of backups.
