Q: If I haven’t restored my data before, where do I learn how to do it and which recovery option will be optimal for my business?

The prime motive of backing up data is to restore it when the need arises. Refer to this blog to learn which recovery option will be ideal for your business, and how to check if your backed up data is recoverable.

Q: Can I backup several servers to a NetGear ReadyNAS?

Yes, you can attach your NetGear ReadyNAS to the Vembu server by specifying its credentials. Once this is done, the backup jobs can be configured to be saved on the NAS.

Q: Is vSphere 6.7 supported with Vembu BDR Suite v3.9.1?

As of now, vSphere 6.7 is not supported for backup. With 3.9.1, a new update is expected to be released in the next two weeks. From then on, vSphere 6.7 will be supported for agentless backup. The release will also be officially announced on our website soon.

Q: Do we need to connect the Vembu server always to the Internet for license check or offline mode is supported?

Yes, the Vembu Backup server needs to be connected to the Vembu Portal via internet to run the license check. We are currently working to implement the offline mode and it will be available in any of our upcoming releases.

Q: Is single mailbox recovery possible in MS Exchange?

Yes, you can recover the individual mailbox from your Exchange with the help of our free tool Vembu Universal Explorer. Kindly check it from the following link https://www.bdrsuite.com/free-vembu-universal-explorer/

Q: Does Vembu offer support for backing up SAP HANA?

As of now, Vembu supports backing up the applications like MS Exchange, SQL, Sharepoint, Outlook and MySQL. If your SAP HANA is running on any Windows Machine or any Virtual Machines of VMware or Hyper-V, you can backup the entire machine as a image-level and recover the backup data using any one of our recovery option.

Q: The only problem I face with my current backup solution is that I am unable to take Single Mailbox backup & Granular Recovery for Exchange 2013. Can I use Vembu for backing up single Exchange mailboxes?

Yes, you can backup a single Exchange Mailbox with Vembu NetworkBackup. But, it is always recommended to configure image-level backup for the entire Exchange 2013 machine, so that you will be able to restore the entire machine or individual application items of Exchange server directly from the backup data using Vembu Universal Explorer.

Q: Is Vembu a full backup solution along with appliance or is it only a Backup Software?
