Protect Your Data with BDRSuite

Cost-Effective Backup Solution for VMs, Servers, Endpoints, Cloud VMs & SaaS applications. Supports On-Premise, Remote, Hybrid and Cloud Backup, including Disaster Recovery, Ransomware Defense & more!

As a developer working on the VMware environment for Vembu BDR, I am here to tell you that your business will never sleep again! You read that right. Vembu is now extending its promise of business continuity with FailOver and FailBack support for VMware environments.

Let me explain. Say you have a VMware environment with numerous VMs some of which are business critical VMs. Vembu BDR will let you have your business critical VMs replicated from a production ESXi server (active) to a recovery ESXi server – a redundant copy where the VM environment is recreated with updates replicated periodically.

FailOver:

Who hasn’t experienced a crisis where a business critical VM in the production ESXi server crashed for some reason and brought the business to a standing halt? FailOver is a saviour during such crucial moments and gets your VMs working within seconds. Once a VM goes down in a production server, the replicated VM present in the recovery server is triggered to get live and running.

FailBack:

If the user needs to recreate the VM in production server, he or she can get the VM from the recovery server restored to the production ESXi server with data worked on thus far. This process is called FailBack.

We are about to enhance the user experience for VM live replication in VMware by adding FailOver and FailBack. There is much, much more to come so do stay tuned for updates from our VMware party of five!
