Restore to Esxi Host

Download as Images
If you had your production environment on one hypervisor and you want to have the same environment in a different hypervisor that suits for your convenience then you can go for download option. The download option includes file formats of VHD, VHDX, VMDK, Flat VMDK and RAW image of your existing machine that are constructed using the backup data. For example you download a backup data as a VHD or VHDX which is actually a vmware virtual machine and you can simply create virtual machine in the Hyper-V environment and same can done in vice versa.
Instant Boot
Instant boot is an effective option which will create a virtual machine in the Hyper-V environment that is constructed from the backup data. The backup data could be any image based backup like VMware, Hyper-V VM’s or any physical image backups. The backup data of the respective backup will be collected from the database with any specific recovery point and will instantly boot as virtual machine in the Hyper-V.
FailOver and FailBack
If you are not having your virtual machine in a backup format instead you have replications of your VM’s then you can go for FailOver and FailBack.
